Creating a multi platform unified service for the BBC.
Created a multi device platform for the BBC’s digital services, and explored how the BBC Masterbrand could be connected with its service ecosystem.
Impact. Delivered one prototype, connecting all BBC services into one experience across devices, including TV. The brand research I did became the foundation for the service strategy and helped guide the iPlayer rebranding.
My Role. Design consultant.
A complex ecosystem.
We needed to create a cohesive multi platform service that included all BBC products, since they were providing a fragmented experience for the BBC audience. We created a responsive modular system supporting web, phone, tablets and TV. I translated the initial strategy into the BBC One Service prototype, identifying and developing the typography, grid and layouts, as well as participating to user testing.
The Masterbrand.
The project started with a research on ways to strengthen the perception of BBC master brand digital offer and to find opportunities to enhance the online brand experience. My responsibilities included rethinking the current branding structure, competitor analysis, as well as core, functional and expressive value analysis, and finishing with the visual research. This work was translated into the BBC One Service Vision.
